piCture pOlish Kryptonite!

Remember BlogFest? There were 11 new shades launched from piCture pOlish that day and the two I was lucky to get for BlogFest were 2 of the 3 I HAD to buy. And this is the third.

Kryptonite was created with More Nail Polish, and is just stunning. it's a deep, emerald green base with lots of holo particles in it. It covers perfectly in 2 coats, and dries glossy. However, I am wearing Seche Vite over it, and my usual base of OPI Ridge Filler underneath. Now, for the pics!

Isn't it fabulous! We need more holos in this shade of green for sure!

Until next Time,

BFF Challenge- Inspired by City/Movie

Hi! Today I've decided to combine Alyssa's chosen themes, Inspired by a Movie and Inspired by a City. So I've gone outside my comfort zone with this one, but I think the end result is cute!

So, I went with a movie my mother had made me watch about 4 million times when I was younger...

Any guesses? It's Sleepless in Seattle. Yeah. Not my favourite, but a movie that has special memories. So, I painted the Space needle, which is the meeting point they had in the movie, and one of Seattle's most famous landmarks. And then, I drew a heart with a trail leading to the tower. Naaaww.

Anywhoo, take a peak at my other challengers!

Until next time!

OPI Ink

Hi! Today I'm showing you a lovely RAOK (random act of kindness) from the amazing Nicole at Epitome Of Superficiatlity, and another from my (now MUCH shorter) wishlist.

OPI Ink. It's a core colour, yes, but one I always managed to never get. And I now encourage everyone to go get it, because it is AWESOME!

Is it blue or purple? Both. It's Blurple (which is a fantastic word) and it's a good one at that! Indoors it is defintiely purple, and then outdoors, it's more blue. It really is the colour of biro ink, y'know when it explodes and ink goes everywhere? Yeah, that colour. With extra shimmer. In a nail polish. YES. I've used 3 coats here, just to bring out extra sparkle, and topped it off with Seche Vite.

So big BIG thank you's to Nicole for this absolute gem!

Until Next Time,

Candeo Jellybean!

Words cannot express how excited I am to post this today. This month I have managed to get both my #1 and #2 lemmings, and this is #2. Candeo Colours Jellybean.

I'm not a huge fan of indie polishes, I have a whole of 3 now, Jellybean, Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire and Pretty and Polished Galax-E, which I won in a giveaway. That said, this is my favourite of them.

It's a sheer pastel yellow base, packed with blue, pink and purple hex glitter, and smaller pink, gold, and green glitter. I layered it over 3 coats of China Glaze Lemon Fizz, the most obvious layering decision because it is so perfect. I used 2 coats of Jellybean, and they applied perfectly. The glitter is nice and dense, I didn't have to fish any out, and I didn't have to 'dab' the glitter on. I finished it all off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Ugh. I am so in love with this, it's not even funny... Isn't it adorable?

Until Next Time!

BFF Challenge - Texture

Today's challenge is Emma's second choice, Texture. Now, I really don't like wearing 3D stuff of my nails, I  LOVE using them on others, but wearing them myself is not something I enjoy. Every manicure I have with some sort of 3D ends up with me picking them off only a few hours! But, nevertheless, I pushed on!

Rainbows :D I used 2 coats of Ulta3 Black Satin, then using a slow drying top coat (BYS UV) I stuck the rhinestones on and finished it with a good coat of Seche Vite.

I love the end result, it's screams PARTY to me!

Go check out my fellow Challengers!

Until next time!

BFF Challenge - Coffee!

Hey hey! This weeks BFF theme comes from Emma over at Manicurity and it is one of my favourite things ever- coffee! I love coffee as much as I love polish, which is saying a LOT!

I wanted to try something I haven't done yet, so I grabbed some deliciously creamy coffee-ish colours -Ulta3 Chocolate Cake and Allure. I painted my ring and index with 2 coats of Allure, and my middle and pinky fingers with 2 coats of Chocolate Cake, one coat of Seche Vite to help it dry quicker, and then started on the 'art'.

Please, mind my pictures, it's rainy and windy and awesome, but not good for picture taking, so they're taken indoors, with flash.

I tried the 'Saran wrap' technique- but here in Australia we call it Glad Wrap lol. For the crappy photo situation, these photos are dead on colour wise! And in the first picture, that is my actual coffee mug- kittens and all!

My idea for these was when you add milk to black coffee and it swirls around and looks awesome. I finished them off with NYC Matte Me Crazy.

Now, I need to fill that mug up, go check out my fellow Challengers!

Until next time!

Color Club Alias

Happy Monday! Starting the week off with something amazing, Color Club Alias.

I encourage you to enlarge that photo (click on it!) to see the full depth and glory of that bottle. Alias is an amazing mix of duochrome, sparkles, and purple. I really love wearing purple on my nails, it's not my favourite colour, but its my favourite to wear on my nails.

The finish on this is phenomenal. It has what looks like a mix of glass fleck/foil particles that are super sparkly, and the particles make the polish glow under certain lights.I love vampy, dark polishes like this. The colour shift is great too, purple to green WITHOUT copper in there. I cannot tell you how bored I get with green-copper/red colour changes!

I have read that some people layer this, but I'm not sure why! This is 3 coats on its own (with BYS UV Top Coat), no layering. It IS opaque in 2 coats, but I added the third on one nail to cover a slight ald spot, and let me tell you, adding the 3rd coat adds so much more depth and sparkle!

This polish has bumped its way into my Top 10! Absolutely gorgeous, can we have more like this please?

Until Next Time

BFF Challenge- Black and White

Time for the second installment of the BFF Challnge chosen by Caitlin, Black and White. This has been on my to-do list for a LONG time, like the KISS nails, so I decided to bite the bullet and do them;

Rage faces! (I apologize for the photos, they were taken indoors with flash. It's dark and grey outside today) My pointer finger could have been better, but overall I am over the moon with how these turned out. I love memes and rage comics, so it was fitting for black and white day. What do you think?

Butter London Fash Pack

Happy Friday everyone! I'm using a nice, neutral colour today, and it's my new favourite neutral!

Butter London Fash pack is a smooth, chocolatey looking brown creme with gold shimmer.

The first picture is much more colour accurate. Notice the huge amount of shimmer in the jar? Sadly, it doesn't transfer to the nail much at all :(

This is 2 coats, and one coat of BYS UV Topcoat (my new favourite btw! So awesome!). It's very pigmented, and I could have just worn one coat, but I did a second coat for these photos. formula is good, thin but not watery, and very manageable. And, the dry time is good too, nice and quick!

It does lobster my hands a little, but it's so pretty I have to forgive it! I'm digging the neutrals atm, suggest some good ones for me to look at?

Until Next Time

Nfu-OH MY GOD!

I mentioned a few days ago that I finally got around to getting my first Nfu-Oh's, and I'll be showing you two of them today (I got 3, the other is #40, blue/green flakies)!

Today is a totally appropriate day to post them too, yesterday was crazy sunny, perfect for swatching, and today, rainy and grey.

First up, #61:

Strong, linear silver holo. How amazing is that?! I want to compare it to GOSH holo, because they are both strongly holo and pure awesome. Two coats, no top coat.

And #66 (such creative names, right?)

Light green linear holo. Doesn't look like much in the bottle, but when you put it on, WOW! It's no secret  that I love green holos, so this is an instant winner in my books. The holo effect doesn't look too strong in the pictures, but in person it is much stronger. This is 3 coats, no top coat.

I love both of these. I have heard that they are hard to apply, you need an Aqua Base etc, but I used my trusty OPI Ridge Filler Base Coat with both and had no application problems. They are both slightly thick, and took a little longer than usual to dry for a holo, but the payoff is worth it. And, I can tell you that top coat does indeed dull these babies, so if you want it to last a little longer, go for a sandwich- one coat of holo, one coat of top coat, then another coat of holo.

My favourite thing about them though, is that they are 17ml bottles! Yay, 2 extra ml!

Now, I'm convinced I need the rest of them, which do you think are best? Love to hear your thoughts!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec

Love Is A Whaaat?

A racket you say? Okay then!

Today I have a swatch I never got around to posting when I wore it a month or so ago, OPI Love Is A Racket. It's from one of the Glam Slam duos OPI released last year.

It looks like a typical bright red at first, but when you look closer, you see that it's a coral-y red glass flecked bottle of awesomeness.

The flecks are more visible in person, I swear! This swatch was two effortless coats, with no top coat. But I must warn you, this stained me, even with a base coat (OPI Ridge Filler, my favourite base), so be careful!

I couldn't help myself with this one, I had to matte it. It begged me to! I used NYC Matte Me Crazy (AMAZING matte top coat!) and used a nail art pen to add some details

I love this colour, it will be great when Christmas comes round ;D

Now, I have a mountain of untrieds/haulage to get through, so I shall see you soon!

Until Next Time,

<3 Bec
